Mission and Outreach

At the very heart of everything we do as a parish, our mission and our outreach must be focussed around God: getting to know and love him better in Jesus Christ, and making Jesus Christ's love better known. All else that we do flows from this core desire.

The role of the Mission and Outreach group of the Church Council is to build connections between our parish and our local community, as well as communities in need – nationally as well as internationally. We believe that this work completes our worship, whereby we are sent into the world “to love and serve the Lord.”

Our activities are mainly focused on community development and advocacy for social justice, with priority being given to those projects which are transformative and not merely charitable. We try to balance our support for needs that are local, national, and international in scope.

Our aims are served by our Mission and Outreach group who:

·                            initiate new outreach opportunities

·                            help allocate parish funds to agencies and institutions

·                            serve as a support and steering group for ongoing programs.

All members of the parish are welcome to join this group, and to bring new opportunities, ideas, and perspectives to the table.
