Discipleship
Discipleship is all about becoming a Christian and committing to the life-long process of deepening your faith in Jesus Christ.
Each of us is called to be a disciple who makes disciples for Jesus. Being a disciple means to have committed yourself to sitting at the feet of your Lord.
In the Autumn of 2006, the parish will be offering a series of short courses from the Emmaus Course, as well as courses based on the key aims of our lives as Christians, namely that we are:
GOD CENTRED
PURPOSE-DRIVEN
PEOPLE ENABLED
JOINING THE CHURCH MEMBERSHIP LIST (Electoral Roll):
To be on the church membership list you must be at least 16, be baptised, and either living in the parish or a regular attender at worship (at least twice a month). Being a member of the Church not only brings rights and privileges, but also responsibilities and commitment. If you are new to the Church you will be invited to attend a 4-session course exploring your faith, baptism and your place in the life of the faith-family here in East Crompton St James.
An application form can be downloaded here
When you join the church, you are strongly encouraged to attend a START! Course. They are run every other month, on Sunday afternoons for 3 sessions.
